Friday’s game postponed due to lightning, set to resume June 20 at home

JOPLIN, Mo. — Due to a storm system that moved into town, the Friday night game between the Des Moines Peak Prospects (4-2) and the Joplin Outlaws (1-0) has been postponed.

Joplin led 5-0 in the top of the 5th inning with no outs. Prospects’ catcher Tanner Short (FR, Northwestern College [IA]) had a 1-0 count at the plate.

Pitcher Mike Bonner (SO, Coe College) had thrown four innings with three strikeouts.

The game will resume June 20th prior to the game scheduled for 7 p.m. CT that day in Indianola. The Peak Prospects have a two-game series against the Outlaws on the 20th and the 21st.
