Prospects fall 9-3 in Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – Jeter “Dock” Fulbright IV (FR, Univ. of the Ozarks) came into Monday’s game with just one at-bat with Des Moines this season.

He started Monday’s game as the designated hitter and barreled an RBI double into center field on his first at-bat to give the Peak Prospects (8-6) a 1-0 lead in the second.

But the Chillicothe Mudcats (4-8) clamped down on defense and led 4-1 after the sixth. They added four more runs in the bottom of the seventh to put the game out of reach.

The Mudcats, who had beaten Sedalia 16-6 the night before, picked up right where they left off, garnering 14 hits in their second consecutive win.

The Peak Prospects’ three-game win streak came to a close at Shaffer Park.

Mike Bonner (SO, Coe College) started on the bound and gave up two runs, four hits, and two walks. He struck out four batters.

Bubba Thompson (JR, Clarke University) went 4-5 at the plate with two RBI.

The Peak Prospects have a rematch with Chillicothe in Indianola at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday. Tickets are $8 and are cash-only at the gate.
