INDIANOLA, Iowa – It was another tough night offensively for the Des Moines Peak Prospects.
In the bottom of the 4th, down 4-0, center fielder Tanner Short (FR, Ellsworth CC) had a double and a stolen base. He then scored in off a groundout by designated hitter John Doty (SO, NIACC), but that proved to be the only run for Des Moines.
The Peak Prospects have lost five in a row.
Clarinda scored three runs in the top of the 1st to set the tone early. They also had home runs from Paxton Terveen and Julian Sauger in the 6th and the 8th.
Weston Barber (FR, SWiCC) got the start and threw six innings. Colton Clarahan (FR, Southeastern CC) threw two innings in relief, and Mitchell Bouwmann (R-FR, SMSU) closed in the top of the 9th.
Des Moines travels to St. Joseph on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.
